How Much Does Garage Floor Coating Cost?

What Drives the Price

Garage floor coating cost depends on four things: square footage, condition of the existing concrete, the coating system you choose, and access difficulty. Here’s how each factor affects your quote.

Square Footage

A 1-car garage (200–250 sq ft) costs less than a 3-car garage (600–750 sq ft). But cost per square foot decreases as area increases because mobilization, grinding setup, and material mixing are fixed costs regardless of size.

Concrete Condition

A clean, crack-free slab in good shape costs the baseline. A slab with significant cracking, spalling, prior coatings that need removal, or high moisture vapor levels adds prep time and materials. We assess this at your free consultation and include it in your quote — no surprise charges on install day.

Coating System

Full-flake broadcast is the most cost-effective and most popular. Hybrid blends cost slightly more due to material. Metallic systems are the premium option because the material is more expensive and the application technique is more labor-intensive — but each floor is one-of-a-kind. Solid color is comparable to flake pricing.

What’s Included in Every Quote

All of our quotes include: moving your items off the floor, industrial diamond grinding, crack and joint repair, primer coat, pigmented base coat, full broadcast media, UV-stable clear topcoat, and a 15-year warranty. Nothing is extra. The number we quote is the number you pay.

DIY Kit vs. Professional System

A big-box epoxy kit runs $150–$400 for a 2-car garage. A professional polyaspartic system costs significantly more. The difference: the kit is 40% solids applied at 3 mils with acid etch prep. Our system is 100% solids applied at 15–25 mils over diamond-ground concrete. The kit lasts 1–3 years. Ours lasts 15–20 years. The kit has no warranty. Ours has 15 years.
